Quick model answer

What is the RDF-300 Standard Drum Filter?

RDF-300 is the 300 m³/h catalogue model in Pureflow Bio’s Standard rotary drum filter range. It screens suspended particles from circulating water and automatically washes retained solids to a waste drain. It provides mechanical screening before separately selected biological treatment.

When should you consider RDF-300?

Consider this model when your peak filter-branch flow can be accommodated within its confirmed operating duty, and its 2350 × 1450 × 1350 mm envelope and pipe connections fit your layout. The catalogue maximum needs confirmation at the chosen mesh and solids load.

RDF-300 versus RDF-250: catalogue maximum flow is 300 versus 250 m³/h; dimensions are 2350 × 1450 × 1350 versus 2050 × 1250 × 1150 mm. Compare actual duty and the full connection arrangement before changing models.

A larger catalogue flow does not automatically establish a better match. Check mesh, solids loading, hydraulic levels, service access and the complete treatment process.

Useful selection guidance

Does RDF-300 fit your filter flow?

Enter the actual peak flow through this filter branch. If your design starts with water volume and a specified turnover time, use Q = V ÷ T, with volume in m³ and time in hours.

The tool compares flow with the published maximum. Mesh performance, solids loading and biological treatment duty need a separate technical review.

  • Confirm screen opening and particle characteristics.
  • Review inlet and outlet water levels and available head.
  • Check solids load, feed input and wash frequency.
  • Agree waste drainage, wash supply and service access.

How a Standard Drum Filter works

01 / SCREEN

Separate suspended solids

Water passes through the selected SS 316 mesh. Particles retained by the screen remain on the drum until the wash cycle removes them.

02 / CLEAN

Start automatic washing

The level-sensor arrangement starts cleaning as operating conditions change. The drive turns the drum while high-pressure nozzles rinse the screen.

03 / DISCHARGE

Send collected solids to waste

Wash water carries retained solids into a separate drain. Screened water continues to the next selected treatment stage.

A drum filter supports solids management. It does not replace biological filtration or guarantee the removal of dissolved waste.

Built for accessible solids management

Standard RDF features and benefits

SS 316 screening options

The supplied catalogue specifies SS 316 grade 75-micron mesh. Review the solids load, operating water levels and wash arrangement when selecting the model.

Automatic wash arrangement

The level-sensor and spray-nozzle arrangement starts cleaning as operating conditions change, reducing the need to initiate every wash cycle manually.

Polypropylene drive gear

The PP drive gear will not rust. Plan routine checks of the gear, drive and screen as part of the equipment maintenance schedule.

Installation and maintenance essentials

Confirm the installation duty

  • Agree gravity-fed or pump-fed arrangement and operating levels.
  • Check the actual peak flow, pipe sizes and available head.
  • Define the wash-water source, pressure, flow and waste-drain capacity.
  • Confirm electrical supply, control interfaces, foundation and service clearances.

Make routine care practical

  • Inspect the screen, nozzles, level sensors, drive and drain.
  • Check for deposits, wear and unusual cleaning frequency.
  • Isolate the equipment before maintenance and follow its operating instructions.
  • Confirm replacement screens, spare parts and service arrangements for your location.
RDF-300 layout check: the catalogue body footprint is approximately 3.408 m² (2350 × 1450 mm), excluding service clearances, pipework and ancillary equipment. Allow safe lid access, screen removal and a separate waste route. Inlet: 250 × 2; outlet: 250 × 2, in mm × quantity.

    RDF-300 Standard Drum Filter FAQs

What is the catalogue flow of RDF-300?

RDF-300 has a listed maximum flow of 300 m³/h. Confirm its operating capacity at the chosen mesh, solids loading and water levels before selection; this is not a universal duty guarantee.

What size is the RDF-300 Standard Drum Filter?

The catalogue dimensions are 2350 × 1450 × 1350 mm, in length × width × height order. These dimensions exclude the service clearance needed for maintenance and pipework. Request the current general arrangement drawing.

Which pipe connections does RDF-300 use?

The catalogue inlet listing is 250 × 2, and the outlet listing is 250 × 2, expressed in millimetres × quantity. Confirm the current connection style, water levels and hydraulic arrangement in the quotation.

    Where can RDF-300 be used?

RDF-300 can be considered as a mechanical screening stage for a koi pond, aquaculture filter branch, hatchery or aquarium life support system whose confirmed duty fits this model. Selection also depends on solids load, water chemistry, mesh and the complete treatment process.

Which screen is available for RDF-300?

The Standard RDF catalogue specifies SS 316 grade 75-micron mesh. Confirm the required operating duty, solids loading and final equipment scope for the project.

Does RDF-300 include biological filtration or UV disinfection?

This Standard RDF listing covers mechanical microscreen filtration. It does not establish biological treatment or a UV disinfection rating. Select those treatment stages separately; compare the Pro Drum Filter With UV range if integrated UV equipment is required.

How should I compare RDF-300 with another RDF model?

Compare actual peak filter flow, available space, connection sizes, screen opening and water levels. The table on this page compares RDF-300 with adjacent catalogue models. Listed water volume is a reference and must not be used as a fish stocking or feed capacity.

What are the RDF-300 warranty, dispatch and quotation terms?

The equipment warranty is one year from invoice date under the agreed operating conditions. Exclusions include normal wear, dry running, voltage issues, improper operation and physical damage. Equipment dispatch is within 15 working days after order confirmation. Electrical load, wash demand, transit, installation and commissioning scope are confirmed in the quotation.
