Define the complete water-treatment brief
Discuss a biological swimming pool filtration concept with Pureflow Bio, combining circulation, solids removal and a project-specific biological treatment arrangement. Begin with the site, intended use and water-quality requirements.
Discuss your projectPrepare your enquiryPlan your system
A biological pool project needs an agreed design basis before equipment can be selected. Pool volume alone does not define the treatment duty. Share the proposed use, bathing load, source water, climate and space available for the treatment system so the project team can assess the required process.
Circulation and solids removal
Review collection points, circulation routes and mechanical filtration alongside access for cleaning. Equipment selection and pipework are confirmed for the agreed project duty.
Biological treatment arrangement
Discuss the proposed biological treatment stage, available space and operating requirements. A treatment concept must be assessed for the intended use before its equipment and operating procedure are fixed.
Operation and project responsibilities
Agree monitoring, cleaning, maintenance and commissioning responsibilities. Applicable bathing-water requirements and any necessary disinfection strategy need project-specific professional review; this page does not promise chemical-free or pathogen-free water.
What to include in your project enquiry
Send the following details to help Pureflow Bio review the requirement and define a quotation.
- Pool dimensions, depth and proposed water volume
- Private or public use and expected bathing load
- Source-water information and project location
- Available treatment area, utilities and maintenance arrangements
Drawings, equipment ratings, materials, controls, supply limits, installation responsibilities and the project schedule are confirmed in the agreed quotation. No fixed system capacity or project price is implied by this overview.

Frequently asked questions
How does a natural swimming pool stay clean without chlorine?
Water is pumped through a biological treatment zone, made of planted gravel beds or an engineered biofilter, where bacteria and plants consume nutrients and break down organic matter. Clean water returns to the swimming area. Mechanical filtration and skimming remove debris.
Is a natural pool hygienic to swim in?
A well-designed and well-maintained system can give clear, pleasant water, but it works differently from a chlorinated pool. There is no disinfectant residual, so water quality should be tested regularly and the design kept within its intended swimmer load.
How big does the treatment zone need to be?
It depends on the pool volume, how many people swim, sunlight and whether the treatment is planted or an engineered filter. Compact engineered filters need less area than planted zones. We size it for your use and site.
Will a natural pool attract mosquitoes?
Moving, circulating water discourages mosquitoes from breeding. Keep the circulation running, avoid stagnant corners and check shallow plant areas.
Can an existing pool be converted?
Often, yes, depending on its size, structure and space for a treatment zone or filter. Share photos, dimensions and your existing equipment and we'll advise what's possible.
What maintenance does it need?
Regular skimming of leaves and debris, cleaning pre-filters, trimming plants, testing the water and keeping pumps and filters serviced. Seasonal checks keep it running well year after year.
