The catalogue states that the models are for reference and customisation can be done as per the requirement. Catalogue maximum flow is not a guaranteed duty at every mesh size; UV wattage is a lamp listing, not a disinfection rating.

Screen. Wash. Treat.

How a Pro Drum Filter with UV works

01 / SCREEN

Separate suspended solids

Water passes through the SS 316 mesh. Retained particles stay on the drum until the wash cycle removes them.

02 / CLEAN

Start automatic washing

The level sensor starts cleaning as operating conditions change. The drive turns the drum while high-pressure nozzles rinse the screen.

03 / DISCHARGE

Send solids to waste

Wash water carries retained solids into a separate drain. Screened water continues through the UV stage to the next selected treatment stage.

A drum filter supports solids management. It does not replace biological filtration or guarantee the removal of dissolved waste. UV lamp wattage is the catalogue listing and does not establish a disinfection result.

Pro RDF features

SS 316 screening

The catalogue specifies SS 316 grade 75-micron mesh. Review the solids load, operating water levels and wash arrangement when selecting the model.

Automatic wash arrangement

A level sensor starts automatic washing and high-pressure nozzles rinse the screen, so you do not have to start every wash cycle by hand.

UV lamps in the same unit

The Pro series is listed as a drum filter with UV. The catalogue gives the UV lamp wattage for each model; it is not a disinfection rating.

Polypropylene drive gear

The wear-resistant PP gear will not rust. Plan routine checks of the gear, drive and screen as part of the maintenance schedule.

    FAQs

What is a Pro drum filter with UV?

It is our self-cleaning rotary drum filter with UV lamps built into the same unit. You get mechanical filtration and UV treatment in one footprint, with one set of connections to plumb. The range runs from Pro RDF-3 to Pro RDF-300, for 3 to 300 m³/h.

Why choose built-in UV instead of a separate UV unit?

It saves space, pipework and a separate housing, which makes a big difference in small plant rooms and tidy koi setups. The UV also sees water that has just been screened, so clearer water reaches the lamps and they work more effectively.

Will the UV clear green water in my pond?

Yes, UV is the standard fix for green water caused by free-floating algae, usually within one to two weeks once the lamps are sized for your flow. It won't remove string algae on walls, which needs good filtration and nutrient control.

How often do the UV lamps need replacing?

Plan on replacing them about once a year. The lamps keep glowing long after their UV output has dropped, so don't wait until they stop lighting. Wipe the quartz sleeves clean whenever you change lamps, or more often if your water is hard.

Does UV kill the good bacteria in my filter?

No. The bacteria that break down ammonia live on surfaces inside your biofilter, not floating in the water, so the UV never reaches them. It acts on algae, bacteria and parasites drifting through the chamber.

Which Pro RDF size do I need?

Pick the model by the flow that will run through it, in m³/h, with some margin above your normal pump flow. If you are unsure, send us your pond or tank volume, pump details and pipe sizes and we'll recommend a model.
