OPERATION & ENGINEERING OF FOAM FRACTIONATORS
Pureflow Protein Skimmers (PSK) efficiently remove organic compounds through centrifugal mechanical separation and enhanced ozone and oxygen infusion. A low-pressure venturi pump injects ozonated air into the water as a fine stream of microbubbles, significantly improving foam formation and contaminant removal.
As the microbubbles rise through the water column, they attract and bind proteins, fats, and surface-active compounds. These materials coagulate and accumulate into a dense foam layer. The skimmer collects this foam and discharges it through an effluent pipe to either the sewer or a backwash treatment system.
The system also eliminates fine particulates below 40 microns, which naturally bind into the rising foam. This dual-action process enhances water clarity, reduces COD, and supports superior oxygen transfer rates.
